Shriver’s Frilly Orchid (Platanthera shriveri)

A recently described orchid of possible hybrid origin between Platanthera grandiflora and Platanthera lacera as parents. Field observations and examination of herbarium records indicate this orchid may be endemic to the Appalachian region with a historical range from North Carolina to Pennsylvania.
